Currys is an electrical retailer in the United Kingdom and Ireland and is owned by DSG International plc. It specialises in home electronics and household appliances, with 295 superstores and 73 high street stores. It is often supported with the marketing slogan; “Currys, We can help”
Currys is a part of the DSGi chain alongside the likes of PC World, Dixons and Pixmania, DSGi holds stores in countries across Europe.
Their annual sales in 2003/04 were £1,752 million and £1,852 million in 2004/05.
Currently the store which has the highest turnover is in Cribbs Causeway, Bristol. Other major stores are located in Wednesbury (north of Birmingham, just off Junction 9 of the M6), Fosse Park, Leicester, Teesside Park (Stockton-on-Tees), Gateshead, New Malden and Croydon. The largest store in terms of size is Wednesbury. New stores have recently been opened in Solihull, Newport (on the Isle of Wight), Chorley, Ashford, Sudbury, Livingston and in New Malden.
In April 2006, it was announced that Dixons stores (except in Ireland) would be rebranded as “Currys.digital”, taking the total to 550 stores. In Ireland, the Currys brand continued to be only used for large-format stores, with Dixons retained on the main streets. However, in August 2008, the Dixons stores in Ireland were rebranded as Currys,[1] similar to the UK move, but without the “.digital” suffix and with a new Currys logo.

Currently, Currys is the leading electrical retailer in the United Kingdom, ahead of their main competitor Comet.

Delta Force Paintball – the World’s number one paintball operator. Delta Force opened in 1989 set about changing the face of the UK paintballing industry – simply put, it was our main aim to make the game more professional, better value, more safe and more fun. As a very wise man said “if you build a better mousetrap the world will beat a path to your door” – and this has proved true for Delta Force Paintball. 2008 alone saw more than 400,000 people played at a Delta Force centre’s in the UK which is 10 times more than played with any other operator!

We have been hosting paintball events for almost 20 years for people from all walks of life; we have hosted and enjoyed thousands of stag/hen parties, corporate events and birthday celebrations. We have entertained royalty, world class sports-people, movie stars, and celebrities galore. We love what we do – and that shows for everyone to see. We look forward to sharing our passion with you. Stay low and shoot straight!

Paintball is a sport, first played in 1981 in New Hampshire, in which players compete, in teams or individually, to eliminate opponents by hitting them with capsules containing paint (referred to as paintballs) from a device called a paintball marker. The game is regularly played in organized competition with worldwide leagues, tournaments, professional teams, and players, but is also used by armies to supplement military training, Some of its technologies are harnessed for riot response and non lethal suppression of dangerous suspects as well.

Games are played on indoor or outdoor fields of varying sizes. A game field is scattered with natural or artificial terrain, which players use for strategic play. Rules for playing paintball vary, but can include capture the flag, elimination, defending or attacking a particular point or area, or capturing objects of interest hidden in the playing area. Depending on the variant played, games can last from seconds to hours, or even days in scenario play.

The legality of paintball varies among countries and regions. In most areas where regulated play is offered, players are required to wear protective masks, and game rules are strictly enforced.

B&Bs, and frequently guest houses, are a budget option where owners often take pride in the high service levels, local knowledge and personal touch that they are able to offer.

There tend to be concentrations of B&Bs in seaside towns where, historically, the working classes holidayed such as County Down, Northern Ireland, and Blackpool, England, and isolated rural areas such as the Highlands of Scotland and Connemara where there is not the year-round concentration of travellers that would sustain an hotel. They are present in most towns and cities, and their numbers vary on trade such as for business travellers and tourists: York and Edinburgh for example both have several hundred establishments known as either B&Bs or guest houses. In very busy areas, B&Bs may display a sign saying “VACANCIES” (rooms available) or “NO VACANCIES”, to save both the hosts and potential guests the trouble of them having to enquire within.

Breakfast is usually cooked on demand for the guest and is usually some kind of full breakfast, but some offer a continental breakfast.

In recent years B&Bs in the UK have struggled against budget hotel chains such as Premier Travel Inn and Travelodge. Traditionally, business travellers used B&Bs but many of these clients now tend to stay in budget hotel chains. However, in holiday areas the B&B and guest house still prevail. Unlike the hotel chains, they provide a more comprehensive service and breakfast is included in the price, and some who stay regularly may simply like knowing their hosts.

B&Bs tend to place their bedrooms within three different categories:

Deluxe: This standard of B&B accommodation in Ireland is considered to be very high and deluxe rooms would be available in high end B&Bs and guesthouse accommodation. Deluxe rooms would often have additional furniture or Jacuzzis in the bathroom. Check the description.

En-Suite: There is a private bathroom within the bedroom. This will always contain a WC and washbasin, and a shower or bath or both.

Standard: There is not a bathroom within the bedroom. In this case there will be shared bathroom facilities in another room on the corridor. Usually there will be a washbasin within the room.

London is a pretty big place and there is alot of variety when it comes down to leisure time. I personally often feel overwhelmed when making a decision about what to do in the evening, on my weekend or on the occasional day off from work. You have all of the tourist attractions, which in my opinion can be overpriced and also get old very quick.

You have the cinema which seems to have shot up in price these days and then you have the nightlife with clubbing, bars, etc – but the price of a drink in London isn’t cheap! I know all of the negatives above come down to price, but you have to weigh up what you get for your money – we aren’t out of the recession yet and every penny counts, right?

I noticed in the deal schedule that we had a deal running in London today for Premier Tickets – a two course meal & a musical ticket – that’s 4-5 hours worth of entertainment and food and our snappy sales team have managed to get 53% discount so you get a beautiful two course meal & a top priced theatre tickets (yeah, so you don’t get blocked by a curtain or something!). I’m sure you’ll agree when I say that theatre is such a powerful experience, it can really awaken your senses and bring you to life all over again.

My recent short weekend away spent in a tent in a field in the middle of the Welsh countryside, has left me with no doubt whatsoever that I am not the world’s biggest fan of camping. After waking up to a cow urinating up against the tent whilst persistently mooing at 5am I decided that I would rather pay to stay in the town’s local Inn than have Daisy defecating on my front door again. So we packed up our ‘two-man’ tent (yeah right, if the two men involved had a serious growth stunt) and paid £32 for a room in what can only be described as a basic hostel. Bah.

Apart from the major accommodation fiasco, I absolutely love the countryside. Why get sand in your pants when you can be happily chasing butterflies in a field, dipping your feet into a dainty little stream or picking fresh strawberries to have for breakfast. Never mind St Tropez, you can get just as nice a tan in England (when the sun is actually out) whilst exploring the rolling downlands of the Cotswolds or climbing a steep valley landscape in Devon.

Whilst everyone spends way too much on jet setting off to Majorca, why not just jump on a train or have a road trip to one of England’s many rural destinations for much less, like Snowdonia’s National park or Chester; perfect for a weekend shopping and sightseeing as well as relaxing in the luxurious surroundings. With Groupola’s helping hand you can get yourself a 12 month FREE Hotel Accommodation membership card (worth £39.95) for just £5 to stay in many superb hotels in the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands, which you can purchase directly from Groupola’s website by clicking here.

Membership allows you and a guest to stay completely free of charge, saving £100’s from country Inns to 4 and 5*hotels and Manors. All you have to pay for during your stay is your meals, ranging from £22.00 per person per night up to £65.00 per person per night; with realistic prices that are reflected in the hotels often mouth watering menus! This really would have come in handy during my mini-break. Instead of paying £32 for a wobbly bed and peeling paint, I could have paid a similar price for a yummy meal and stayed in a 5* hotel for free. What a fool!

A lesson to be learnt for sure, so all you country bumpkins planning on a British mini break, don’t make the same mistake as I did! Take advantage of this perfect baa-rgain break, and I promise you there will be no annoying farmyard animals to spoil your lie-in.

I don’t think I’ve ever won anything in my life, so it was truly a happy day for me when I got a phone call from a photography company telling me that I’d won a professional photo shoot for myself and a friend, including food, champagne and a massage. I decided to take my boyfriend along seeing as he was staying with me at the time.

We packed a few different outfits as requested and hopped on a train to London where we arrived about and hour too early (I know… eager beavers) at the studios. I remember being surprised at how busy it was, with photographers and stylists running to and fro, and more than a few customers at the bar and waiting areas.

We were offered drinks and snacks (free of course) and filled out a preference form on how we wanted our hair and make-up done. I chose big back-combed hair and dark eyes, whilst my boyfriend wanted the ‘glam look’ (sparkly eye shadow and curly locks) but I eventually talked him out of it.

In hair and make-up, my scary stylist with a bullring through her nose and tattoo eyebrows was surprisingly gentle whilst she back-combed my hair into a huge birds nest (this is actually what I wanted) and chatted to me happily about how her next tattoo would be the word ‘Awooga’ on her lower back. Simultaneously I got a hand massage and my make up done and I couldn’t help but think ‘this is the life’. Our photographer was called Peter.

He was small and ginger, and his camera was bigger than his head. He led us through to the changing rooms where we got into our first outfits ‘casual wear’ and then were photographed in numerous different studios to a variety of settings and props. I particularly like the swing set, the staircase and a large circle set in the wall which we had silhouette shots taken in. At first we felt absolutely stupid as he said ‘look into each others eyes… move closer… put your hands around his neck…’ so most of the first few photos were of us in mid-laughter, eyes half shut and a quite a lot of double chins to be fair (his chins not mine…well ok mine too). But as we got into our final outfits ‘eveningwear’ and I put on my heels and he his suit, I suddenly felt more confident, more glamorous and joy of all joys, taller! I had big hair, I had big lashes, I had big heels and I felt like a big star.

When it was all (sadly) over, we were led into a consultation room to view our final shots which was really scary and exciting as neither of us have ever had any professional photos taken. The end result was well put together with several montages and touch-ups that made us look a lot better than in real life. We could have been straight out a magazine! Granted, perhaps not quite Harper’s Bazaar or Tatler, but definitely in there with Vogue.

We only ended up purchasing 4 photos (we’re poor students) on CD and also managed to get a cheeky discount which took a bit of haggling but as I said; we’re poor students. Seeing as I’d never won anything before I think this was a pretty good win. I’d recommend the experience to anyone, either with your partner, a friend or family member or even solo. Of course, the cheaper you can get it the better, so that’s why Groupola’s generous team have come up with this absolutely unmissable offer: £60 for a professional photo shoot with Vanity Studios in London, originally worth £600! Snap up this amazing deal today from this link by clicking here and start practicing that pout!

Gameplay

Gameplay is a mix of action and platforming. As the game progresses, players play as each of four characters; Fry, Bender, Leela and Zoidberg. Fry’s levels mostly involve shooter mechanics, as he can use a multitude of guns. Bender’s levels are platformer-oriented whilst Leela’s revolve around hand to hand combat. Zoidberg features in a short segment that plays similar to the warthog levels from Crash Bandicoot. There are several Nibblers hidden in each level; collecting them unlocks extras such as movie clips and galleries.

Storyline

The game begins with Professor Farnsworth, wearing a sombrero, selling the Planet Express delivery company to Mom, explaining that it had been losing money for years due to mismanagement. The buyout gives Mom ownership of more than fifty percent of Earth, allowing her to become the supreme ruler of Earth. Soon after this, she enslaves humanity.

After Fry, Leela, Bender, and Farnsworth repair the inexplicably broken ship, they escape from Earth with the Professor’s new invention, The Re-animator, which brings the crew back to life every time they die. However, Mom pursues them in an effort to capture Farnsworth. She hopes to turn Earth into a giant warship, and Farnsworth is the only person who knows how to build an engine large enough to move the Earth. She ultimately captures Farnsworth, places his head in a jar, and sends the ship hurtling into the Sun with Fry, Leela, and Bender on board.

After discovering that the Sun is habitable, they help the Sun People, then head for the planet of Bogad, where Farnsworth’s mentor, Adoy, lives. Adoy has invented a time machine, which he uses to send Fry, Leela and Bender back to a few minutes before Mom buys Planet Express from the Professor. However, the ship crashes into Planet Express, destroying the ship. This prompts them to steal the ship of the past, leaving the broken ship to be repaired by their past selves. They attempt to stop the sale, which prompts Mom to send Destructor to attack them. They defeat the robot, but the Re-animator gets damaged and falls on Destructor, causing it to fall on top of them. Angry at the fact that the robot killed his crew, the professor refuses to sell Planet Express. But after Mom bribes him with a sombrero, he sells, and the events of the game continue in an endless cycle.
