Twilight Tracer
Posted at 13 February 2008 by adminEver lost your balls in a huge bush? Having problems with your shaft speed? (Stop sniggering at the back, we’re talking about golf here chaps!) Anyway, diving around in the undergrowth after you’ve shanked your ball off the tee is never a great feeling and that’s why this Twilight Tracer is so brilliant. It looks, feels and plays like a normal golf ball but as soon as you make contact with it, and hopefully smelt it off the tea like Tiger Woods with PMT, it will light up like a beacon allowing you to plot it’s course from tee to cup. If you’re any good that means you’ll be able to show off just how straight and true you can strike woods and low irons, while in our case it allowed us to follow its warm glow to the nearest gorse bush or on very rare occasions the adjoining fairway!
With the ball programmed to illuminate seven-times-a-second for five to six minutes after its been struck or dropped there’s never a problem picking it out, even in rain, mist, snow or when the light is failing.
As for the science let’s not get too deep but an LED is motion activated when you strike or drop the ball, while the balls inner-core also contains important stuff like circuits and a lithium battery.
They key, though, is you get to find the ball while the performance and length off the tee are largely unaffected. Oh yes, and it also comes with its own ball pouch and two tees. What more could you want? Well, apart from a half-decent swing and a handicap of less than 28 anyway!
